Our History

With a reach that expands throughout the Southeast, Hodges & Pratt Company, P.C., conducts appraisals and provides consultation services with a focus on multifamily properties and eminent domain. Led by MAI-certified President, Nelson Pratt, Hodges & Pratt employs astute appraisers and skilled researchers to provide incisive and thorough market studies and valuations. Having worked with government bodies, private investors, and both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, Hodges & Pratt is establishing itself as one of the pre-eminent appraisal companies in the region.

Nelson C. Pratt, MAI

Qualifications

Nelson is the President of Hodges & Pratt. He is a Certified General Appraiser with the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, has 20 years of specialized experience in the valuation and consultation of multifamily housing projects in the Southeast, has extensive experience with the HUD MAP program and is a member of the National Council of Housing Market Analysts (NCHMA). Nelson is also actively involved in valuation of eminent domain projects in Tennessee. He went to the University of Tennessee, majoring in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate. He lives in Knoxville with his wife, Natalie, and children, Addison and Turner. In his free time, Nelson enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, being outdoors, and golfing.

Traci A. Hartsell

Qualifications

Traci provides real estate valuation and consulting services in a wide range of commercial properties for lending institutions and individual clients. Her primary concentration over the past several years has been multifamily appraisals. Traci is also involved in valuation of eminent domain projects for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. After graduating from The University of Tennessee in 2003 with a degree in Business Administration, Traci obtained a position at Hodges & Pratt and has been with the company ever since. She is a licensed Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Tennessee and is a Practicing Affiliate with the Appraisal Institute. Traci resides in Kodak with her husband, Brent, and daughters, Emma and Halle, and enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Andrew C. Langley

Qualifications

Andrew is a Certified General Appraiser with over ten years of experience appraising commercial and multifamily properties. He specializes in the valuation of eminent domain projects for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Urban Planning. Andrew is from West Tennessee and currently resides in Knoxville with his wife, Andrea, and twin boys, Court and Garrett. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid golfer.

Brice X. Portwood

Qualifications

Brice is an East Tennessee native, born and raised in Knoxville. He spent more than 15 years in the construction industry before joining the Hodges & Pratt team in 2013. Brice also married his wife, Charity, in 2013 and they enjoy spending time with family and friends or making a spur-of-the-moment trip to Asheville. He is also an avid Tennessee Volunteer fan and supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Misty Reiter

Misty is responsible for managing the office and coordinating market surveys for multifamily projects. She has been with Hodges & Pratt for approximately eight years and has played an integral role in developing and organizing spreadsheets for rental analysis for both multifamily appraisals and market studies. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Misty enjoys hiking, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Jenni Davies

Jenni has over 15 years of experience in HUD multifamily loan processing and underwriting. She joined Hodges & Pratt in 2014 as a Market Analyst. In this position, Jenni assists with FHA appraisals and market studies, market analysis, research analysis, demographics analysis and due diligence. She lives in Madisonville with her husband, Shawn, and children, Morrison and Cooper. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her children play sports, being outdoors, and traveling.

Lindsay Hill

Business Development

Lindsay’s real estate career began while she was in college at the University of Tennessee where she worked in property management and appraisals while pursuing her degree in Sociology. Since joining Hodges & Pratt, she has focused primarily on market studies throughout the Southeast. Lindsay strives to provide solutions to our clients that will help them predict profitability, forecast demand, and assist in their development decisions. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, flying airplanes, and spending time with her friends and family.
